I was born to my wonderful and always supportive parents, Scott and Cindy, on a typical cold and gloomy March afternoon. Contrary to Mother Nature's mood, I was born with spirit, tenacity, and a whole lot of colorful personality. It didn't take long until that personality came out in ways I'm sure my mother was wholeheartedly and hilariously unprepared for. Hacking off a chunk of my hair with plastic scissors because "I wanted to be like Mulan", told my parents I was daring and a bit mischievous. Turning my high chair tray into a masterpiece with cottage cheese as my paint and my hands as my paintbrush, told them I was creative. Running the length of the house, buck naked, fresh out of the bath as my mom chased me down with a towel, told them at just over a year old - I had no reservations about just being myself regardless of who was watching.
If someone asked me "Besides family, friends, and fur babies, what are three things you're most passionate about?" I know exactly what I'd say to them. "Snacktime, naptime, and the time I spend contributing creatively in hopes of making the world a prettier place." Though, it could be argued that my life predominantly revolves around the creative chaos... And I absolutely love it. From Crayola Sketch Pads to my trusty Faber-Castell pencils, my creative passions started to grow and evolve right along with me. I took as many art classes in middle and high school as I could, I couldn't get enough. I decided very young that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When the time came, I enrolled at Miami Valley Career Tech Center. It was there that I fell in love with Graphic Design and the digital medium.
By Senior year of high school, I set my sights on college, particularly art and design schools. After much deliberation, I finally decided on Columbus College of Art and Design. Waiting patiently by the mailbox for weeks, my acceptance letter finally arrived. Just a few weeks after, another letter arrived in another very official looking envelope. One of my proudest moments aside from graduating, was opening that envelope and seeing their offer of a scholarship worth $36,000. Spending four years at Columbus College of Art and Design taught me a lot about not only my skills, but myself personally. It helped me forge lifelong friendships and a better appreciation for all things creative. I was finally discovering who I was and what I wanted to achieve. Four years of college seemed like forever at the time, but looking back, it seems like it went way too fast. Before I knew it, I was walking across the stage, receiving my diploma, and saying goodbye to that unmistakable red ART sign on campus. Since graduating, I've had the pleasure of working in many mediums, with even more amazing clients. I've travelled with NASCAR and Bank of America, dabbled in custom apparel, and more. I can't wait to see where the creative chaos takes me next.
